Garden Room & Sauna Build

RPM's very own place of solitude! Having been a huge fan of Sauna for many years, learning more about the remarkable health benefits coupled with the rising costs of gym memberships we decided to invest in our very own Sauna.
Needing a dedicated office space too we decided to create this space ensuring it would stand the test of time, be well insulated and provide all we could want and need for operating a small business as well as have a place to relax, unwind and test our mental and physical fortitude. Utilising a concrete base and then insulating with 100mm thick PIR below the floor and all walls & roof also benefitting from 100mm thick PIR this building retains its heat incredibly well.
The office walls were all insulated with 100mm thick PIR.
The sauna however was insulated with natural wool insulation, then fire rated plaster board, then a foiled vapour barrier applied over the top of that, then more specialist sauna 20mm thick PIR which then has all the joints taped with foil tape. Then all the walls are double battened to prevent any risk of moisture settling on the batten and then the wooden cladding applied. This room is the most insulated sauna I have come across whilst carrying out my research, it gets up to 80+ degrees in approx. 30minutes and retains its heat remarkably well.
